Production of sarcoma in rats with light green SF.
نویسنده
چکیده
In 1937 Schiller (1) reported that the dye, light green SF, was carcinogenic for rats but not for mice. In his experiment, 7 rats (white, and spotted black and white) received, once or twice weekly, subcutaneous injections of 1 to 3 cc. of an aqueous 2 per cent, and uhlmately a 3 per cent, solution of the dye. When the animal's condition deteriorated, the injections were omitted or the volume was diminished. After about a year, 4 of the rats developed sarcomas at the site of injection. As Schiller's experiment was conducted with a small number of heterogeneous animals, and since no confirmation had appeared in print, it seemed desirable to repeat Schiller's experiments, using a sample of light green SF supplied by Coleman and Bell.

Study the Effect of Bioptron Light therapy on Prevention of Oscar Production in Diabetic and Non-Diabetic Rats
Background: The formation of skin scars is inevitable following surgery, trauma and burns. Wound healing is a complex process that occurs during the competition of collagen production and collapse mechanisms. Various factors such as diabetes can interfere this process with multiple mechanisms. There are also ways to speed up the process of repair and prevent wound formation which is the use of...
متن کاملExpression and purification of human interleukin-2 simplified as a fusion with green fluorescent protein in suspended Sf-9 insect cells.
A fusion protein of human interleukin-2 (hIL-2) and green fluorescent protein (GFP) was expressed in insect Sf-9 cells infected with recombinant baculovirus derived from the Autographa californica nuclear polyhedrosis virus (AcNPV). This fusion protein was comprised of a histidine affinity ligand for simplified purification using immobilized metal affinity chromatography (IMAC), UV-optimized GF...

متن کاملEffects of salinity on growth and fatty acid composition of green microalgae Dunaliella bardawil as a candidate source for biofuel production
Microalgae as a source of saturated and unsaturated fatty acids, pigments, pharmaceutical and food metabolites, has received more focus by biological researchers at last decades. The amount and composition of fatty acids produced by microalgae depended on biomass production and environmental factors such as changes in salinity, light and nutrient availability. In this study, the green microalga...
